24th - 25th November Thanksgiving Weekend Maximum Effort!!
For anyone who has not been to Laredo. It is a small western town with about 25-30 wooden buildings. It is slightly later than the civil war but is still a great venue for civil war reacting. It is tucked away from modern intrusions and has all the facilities we need.
Camping is available from Friday nigh through to Sunday afternoon. There will be a military camp in the small woods behind the town, with plenty of fire wood. A frame tents are ok as they would have been use in winter by soldiers as well as civilians. Bring flies, shelter halves and ground cloths. Bring spare blankets as it is going to be fairly cold.
Could everyone please try and get to the town Saturday morning as I understand there is going to be various meetings and things going on. The gates close at 10pm so you must be onsite before then.
There will be a party/gathering in the evening in the hotel. Everyone is invited. Bring your own drinks put them behind the bar and these will be served to you. It is a great place, to be able to relax with your mates, have a drink and a chat and a good laugh.
I have been to the town many times and I love the place and Steve certainly fell in love with the place. I think every one should be there to remember Steve and celebrate his life.
I will be doing civilian for the weekend.
