Well what can I say about this one, except bloody fantastic event. It was very well organised, and executed. I personally had a fantastic time (except for the trip home on that ferry what a nightmare trip that was).We recieved a very warm welcome, that party our French friends laid on was just great.
The photo's I think speak for themselves this was a great site not too big but good ground for what were doing. On the whole we all enjoyed ourselves I think, the scenario for the weekend was good, The standard on the Confederate side was better than I expected, some of the Federals need a bit of work especially in the footwear department. The civilians gave us another headache to contend with, but it was a good headache. Especially when they lifted all the Federal greatcoats and got them back through the heavily guarded entrance to the Federal lines and offered them to us for $5 yankee each. The campfire was great Saturday evening. Sorry about the special mission guy's but you did do the job you were sent out for.I think though I will have to put out a minimum standard out, for all our events in future to hopefully rectify some of the blatantly obvious anomilies that were present this weekend that the offenders should have known better, although these were'nt regular attendee's they still should have known better. But as I said generally a good weekend, and I for one would definately like to try and make this an annual occasion. SteveB. Steve Boulton

I liked the special mission Steve and I would always be OK for missions special as that there, I am the first one to have seen and heard Of Yankee and the first to fire.
For people who have efforts to make on the life of camp, etc. They know him, I am on, in any cases, us there we keepan eye on them, now have they they, envy to make efforts? Mystery! It is all the question there... Thanks all for going William Miconnet

Good news, I found my Poncho, but not my Shelter, I have in the place of my which is a Type II, another type II, obviously Jarnagin manufacture, with reinforcements of brown color, eyelets bent and string of bad quality passed inside, I thus think that somebody confused mine with his, anything low register thus, help with the guys...

Well I made it back a week after you boys!
Had a great time swanning around Normandy revisiting my favourite sites and exploring new ones. Then spent a few days visiting friends. They certainly know how to make a guy feel welcome! Even said if you lot were short of cash you could have stayed with them! Perhaps another time - but I'm not sure they know what they'd be letting themselves in for! I'll put my pics up over the week-end, when I've sussed out how to do it! Andy. (Sorry to hear you had a rough journey back Steve. I was knackered coming back, but only cos I'd been pushing the boat out till 6:00am. My fault.) |
