It's one of the major aspects of the Civil War and horribly understated in everything we do here and indeed in the States too. Mind you, I don't think event organisers would take too kindly to us digging up their land!

It's also one of the reasons we can't successfully do any mid to late war events - the whole aspect of the war changed as the Volunteers ran out in North and South, Conscription bringing a different type of soldier into play and the sheer meat-grinding, death-dealing accuracy of the new weapons causing every soldier to think about his personal safety and even the Officers to realise that it's a good idea to at least duck....
