I bet what has happened is that Frank has sent the cheque to the Stevenage madhouse even though I gave him my Mum's address....

I'm onto him now for a fresh cheque to be sent here (Bedford.)

My temper got the better of me last night and I sent a bastard of a mail to him...seems to have got things moving though anyhow...

For those of you who are not in the know, 1/2 way from Gretna to Stranraer there is a brown tourist board sign
'Devil's Porridge Exhibition' pointing to the left.
It caused some bemusement.

There was a large armaments factory here in Hereford. During WW1 the govt requisitioned a huge estate, from a german family, burnt all the crops in the fields and built the factory.
It was used through both wars. Now 1/2 of it is used as an industrial estate, the...

I reland... what a fantastic event still only just coming down to earth.
Chris Mc and Nobby I found out on google that the devils porridge is a mix of tnt and gelignite used to make cordite during the ww1 + ww2 the site was the largest munitions factory in the uk employing mainly women.
so blackpowder was not so far out.

Right. If you click on 'Slideshow' and 'andyclayton_uk' in the big blank space to the right you get the pics. You then choose which ones to add to the show - but you can only do half of them at a time. Then they rush towards you from the screen at great speed - very weird. I'm not going to use photobucket again. Yahoo pics which I'm familiar with is axing itself so I have to find an alternative storage site. Any one got any good suggestions?
