			<description><![CDATA[ A lot of Abe's speeches were pretty stunning, pithy and to the point. At that time this was pretty radical cos verbosity was in vogue. they still impress today and politicians study them. Only drawback with the Gettysburg address is that it is so well known that it has become a bit hackneyed.<br><br>Many years ago I had a book from a local library about the ceremony at Gettysburg with the emphasis on Lincoln's speech. 			<description><![CDATA[ I expect it is because only something like 7% of the present population have an ancestor that fought in the war, and that perhaps 80% of the present population were not even native to the place until 1900? I'm guessing the figures, but it must be somewhere around there. Atlanta is populated with people who come from anywhere else BUT Georgia. <br><br>I also think that the current teaching regime does not include much on ACW, this is general to this country too, who learns about wars and... ]]></description>
